A dariiig robbery wns oommited on the personof John Cowan, of London, Canada Wet, on YVednosdny evcning, about , five miles below Detroit. He had pro curcd a person named Merrigan, to drive him from Detroit to Monroe, and when at the distance from Detroit above tated, a third person attackod Cowan in the sleigh and demandcd his money. The assailant succeeded in obtiining CowanV money after a slrugglo, in whioh Merrigan did not interfere, though appealed to by Cowan for assistance. The robber escaped, but Merrignn was arrested a an accomplice, and held to bail in the sunaof $1000. P. S. Since the above was put in type, we loarn from the Fret Press ihat the person who was described by Mr. Cowan to Sheriff Cicott, as having ossaulted and robbed said Cowan, was Fri day night taken intocustody by theSher iff, and on a parlial examination before JusticeO'Beirnc, was fully identified by Mi. Cowan. He is now in jail awafting a further examination. The name of the person so identified, is Owen Glancy. - ,
