We have rcceived the proceedings of n maps meeting of the Colo.-ed Penple of Detroit, in reference tr tho recent atletïipt to cn.iTV one of their number nlo slavery. The mjptiiig was held in the colored Methodist Church, Richard Gordon, Chairmin, and Win. Lamhert, Secretary. A liberal collection was la!;en up to carry on the suit now pending against Dunn, for an atlempt to kidnap. We mnke room for the Resolutions adopted by the meeting. Resolved, That we liold our liberty denrer than we do our lives, and we are fully determinad, 1 ive or die, sirk or svvim, never to go back into s'avery. Resolved, That as it is our desire to be a penceful and sober part of thiscommuity.wo v i 1 1 always abide by the constitution and laivs of his Siale, which recognizes no slavery ; and for the better preservntionof law and order, we rpquest the ciiizens of ihra Staie, to urge upon the Legislatura at its next session, to pass laws similar lo thoso recently passed in the Stnte of Pennsvlvania, which prohibits the State officers from arresting, aiding, or assisting to kidnap, or in any way to interfere with a human being, as property. Resolved, That we return our sincere I han ka to ihaerninent counsel who have defended os with this casa of Robe'rt Crumwel), and our gratitude is vet due tothem for thfi zeal manifested in our Lchalf, on. another occasion. Rosiilved, That we return our tlianks to the citizens who manifested sucli a deep iniereston iheside of liberly, Por it was gratifying to witness the spon'aneous burst of detestation they manifested against all who countenancsd or were connected wiih this dastardly proceeding. Resolved, That the proceedings of this meeting, with the preamble and resolutions, be published in the City papers, and in the Signal of Liberty at Ann Arbor, Mystery at PiHsburgh, National Era at Washington, and the Emancipatorat Boston, and all othor papers friendly to liberly, are requested to copv the same. 05 Patent Elastic Baby Jumpcrs are in vogue just now at the East. We presume not : but Michigan has had merabers in Congrcss that were evidently ol tho same inteMectual family, and most ntimatcly rclated to the hero of this article.
