The íollowing are the reaolotions of the Ma'isachusetts Legislatura on the M ex i can war. Resolved, That the present war with Mexico has its primar origin n the unconstiUition.nl annexation M the United States of t'ne forrign State of Texas; that il was uncnnstiiuiionnlly coinmonced by the order of the President, to Gen. Tuylor, to tnke military powessian of territurv in dispute between the Uniled States and Mexico, and in occupation of Mcxi-l co ; and lint t is now waged - by a, poweriul nation against a weak neighbor unneeessarily and without just caue, al immense co;t of t reasure and lifr, foi the dsmcnbernicnt of Mexico and for the eonquesl of a portion of her territory, from which S'.avery has already been excluded, with the triple object of extendingSlavery, of strengthening the "slavepower," and of obtaining the contra] of the free States, under the Constimtion of the United States. Resol ved,That suoh a w:ir of conquest, sotiaeful in its object, so wanton, unj.ist nnd unconstitiitional in its origin and j eharacter, .nust be regarded ns a war against freedom, ag.iinat humanity,figainst justice, against the Union, agtinst the Constitution, and against the f ree States; nnd thnt a regard forthe true inlerests indthe liigliest honor of the country, not IM than the impulses of Christian duty, shouUl arouse all good citizens lojo'tt) in effect to arrest ibis war, nnd, in every tit way, aiding the country to retire froni the position ofaggression which it now occupies íowards a weak, distracteJ neighbor, and sister republic. Resolved, That our attention is directed anew to the wrong and i;enonnity" of Slavory, and to tlietyr;inny and usurpation of the "slave-power," asdisplpyed in the history of our country, particularly in the annexation of Texas, and the present war with Mexico; and that we ure impressed with the unalterable conviction, that a regard for the fair fune of our country, for the principies of moráis, and for that righteousness which exalteth a nation, snnctions and requires all constitutional eff)rts for the destruction of ihc unjnst influence of the slave power, and for the abolition of Slavery within the limits of the Uniled States. Resolved, That the annexntion of territory with Mexican population upon it, is highly inconsislent with the well beingof ihis Union. It is said the last English steamer ln't over $'.2.000,000, and n la-ge amount is also espected hy the Rritannin, now on her passage. Already some fiflecn millions have been received in payment for grain and provisions.
