The followtng isfïom on article in the True Democrat,"a VVhig paper of Cleveland. The language is strong and truthful. Our Whig neighbors, we presume, will take its reproofs kindly, as they come from one of iheir own brethren. "The course pursued by many VVliig leaders and editors, in nominating Gn. Taylor for the Prerideney, may jusily bé considered the greatest symptom of deprarity the present nge presents. Such a nomination, coming from any source, would be wickedness enough to consign its originators to 'lasting shame ; luit, in coming from men of consideraiion in the Whig parlv, it becomes a sin, the equal of which, heil itself cinnot boast. They have denounced Ihis War as wicked, nggressive and murderous, oud yet they will jeward ils hero with the Presidency ! - They have denounced il as a slnveholdei's wax, and yet, its hero, a slaveholder, is their choice for the Presidency? They siy to Gen. Tnylor, "You have been engnged ia a wicked, mnvderous war, and as a .p roo f f our offection for yoursuccess in tnurdring an injured people, we will rnake you the President. The war s an rifaraous,slaveholder's war,designed to extend and fatten, and perpeiuate the damnable sin - and yet, as you are a greal slaveholder, and have givensuccess to the accursed war, we wil! mnke you the President" ! ! ! Was ever wickednoss greater? Was ever hypocrisy moreglaring? Was ever inconsislency moro devilish? And do these wicked men think to deceive the honest and humane, and triuaiph in thi.s helüsh business?"
