The Arkansas ner, of the 6th uit, states that the nuthorilies of Arkansas ttand ready to give away to settlers certain lands in that state which have been forfeiled for taxes, and no payrnent will be required for ihem. The Auditor, upon proof of settlement, will make a deed, which deed the supreme court of tlie state has decided will be valid. The forfeited compnse some of the finest lands in the state. The Banner office has just issued a volume of 75 oclnvo pages, containing a list of all ihe lands which the state can dónate, and the laws relaling thereto. On the line of tho Providence and Worcester raüroad, there are twenty stopping places, or Way Stations; 94 Cotton Mills; 307,006 spindles ; 7,092 Looms ; making about 1,197,800 yards of cotton cloth per week ; 23 Woolen Mills; 81 setis of VV ooien Machinery ; 4 Scythe Works and 30 Machine Shops. The road is a fraction over 43 miles long, and will be in operation by the last of this montli.!
