-Dr. Bailey says, veryustly, "the policy of the democratie party in reation to slavery wc ubhor - the policy oi the whig party in relaiion to slavery, wc (hspise. The one is cowardly. the other, atrociou6. This volunteers its open support to the piratical system; hat pledges its silence. We speak now of the. parties. as pnrties." Mr. Wtller, niember of Congress from Ohio, las adiiressed a circular to his constituents, defending his course in relation to the resolution to. censure Mr. Giddings. He concedes that Mr. G. had a right to express his views upon the Creóle caee. but conlenJs the House had a right to censure h m for so dolng. He quotes only two of the resolutions Mr. G. ofiered, considoring it "unnecessary" to discuss the ot .ers, informing his renders however that they are of "a base and treasonable character," and contain "British arpuments"! An admirable and very bummarv method of disposing of proposltions he dare not undertakc to meet!
