The State Lilerty Convention was held at Augusta, Jan. 12. The severity of the wealher, and the impagable state of the roadö, occasioned by the drifting of the snow, prevented great nunibcrs from attending. - The Legislalure, then Ãn session, granted the use of the Itepresentative. James App&btoá the former ab!e and excellent candidate for Governor, was renominated onanimouöly. In the Legislature, Mr. Frye presented a petition of Sfith May and others that tiie principie of lave representa'. ion he exclnded from the Constitution of the U. States. Mr F. would not commit hitüèelf on the snbjeci of tJie petition, but wished it referred to the proper committee without debate, which was accordingly done. The followinir resolution of the State Society shows that the abolitionhts of the extreme East harmoniza in one important respect with those of the West.
