CasRÃus spoke at Albany at the City Hall. J. C. Jackson, Editor of the Patriot, says he was greatly disappointed in bim - in his logic1 nd rhetorical powers, and also in his moral courage and moral perceptions. He found fim to be a Whig, and nothing but a Whig. He defended Henry in about every position he bad taken - chalienged his audience to name any one who had done as much for the canse of human freedom as Henry Clay - said his 1839 speech wns wnrthy oÃ' him," &c. &cc. Jackson said his henrt bied for the poor fellow. He played his part very poorly in Albany, and has much less power to hurt ihe Liberty cause than raany of the other Whig speakers.
