- ThefAlbany Advertiser sumslhe result of thö town elections thus far, as follows: "Returns of Supervisors elected in 41 of the counties of the Stafe, show 381 Whigs 294 Loep-, and 10 Abolition, or tied} Whig majority, 87. In íhe Same counties last year, 320 Whigs, 359 Loc'oS, and 3 Abolitionists; Loco majority, 39j Whig nett gain, 128.- Det. Adv.(L The ladies of the Durand Misstond ary Society of New Haven have constituted Henry Clay a life member of the American Home Missionary Society by a contribution of $50,00. Mr. Clay acknowledged the favor in a letter in which he assures the donors tbat he "shares with them in a profound sense of5 the surpassing importance of the Ghristan religión," and that he sincgrely believes in its truth. (C0 The news of the final passage of the Annexation resolutions in Congress waa received inGalveston and Houston, (Texas,) with every demonstration of joy. But nothing of its reception in other places has reached us. All accounts concur in stating that there will be a considerable opposition.
