Suicide wns committed on Thursday lest in this village, by Mr. James Brown, a nntive o; Glasgow, Scolland. He was born in the year 1795, and emigrated to America. at the early asje of 17, in company with a íew friends. who like himself, are gone with the years beyond the flo'jcJ. Ke was á man of strong iiuegrity, sound judgrnent, and good learning: but in a moment of weakness, from causes unknown, took his own life. As a citizen he was industrious and honcst. as a neighbor, beloved and respected. and 08 u father of sevcn children, of whoin is an only son, he was kind and atfecüonnte. The circum8tances of his death are trying to hia afHicted family. to whom he talked unul near expiring, when he couid hold no Ionger, und eaüed for nn absent daiigluer. who kno.vs not that her fethei now lies cold and silent in thè grave.
