The Albany Patriot hassome sensible remarks on the evils of the plan now prevalent in this nation of adjusting claims ngainst the government. The writer says that one ihird of the whole :ime of Congressis taken up wi.th matters of that kind. The same is truc of the several Siate Legislatures. Yet are told that in Washington persons who have claims of undoubted justice die almost in a starving condition, on account of the delay in adjusting them. This is a great evil. It is feit quite sensibly in our State. On a future occasion we intend to examine the subject at some length and see if a remedy can be found.
